Add the port you need to open and click Next. Right click Inbound Rules and select New Rule. In the next article, we’ll consider a simple PowerShell- and Windows Firewall-based solution to automatically block IP addresses trying to remotely brute-force passwords over RDP on your Windows VDS server. Select Advanced settings and highlight Inbound Rules in the left pane. You can automatically run PowerShell scripts to open/close ports if certain events happen. Again, to block the UDP port 4444, run the following command: sudo ufw deny 4444/ udp. As you can see, the TCP port 8080 is allowed. The required firewall rules for allowing the TCP port 8080 should be added. In the New Inbound Rule Wizard, under the Rule Type section, select the Port radio button and click Next. Click New Rule in the right-hand pane to open the New Inbound Rule Wizard. Click Inbound Rules from the left pane to reveal the Inbound Rules pane on the right. PowerShell provides ample opportunities to manage Windows Firewall rules from the command prompt. For example, to allow the TCP port 8080 using UFW, run the following command: sudo ufw allow 8080/ tcp. Open a Port in Windows Server Firewall 1.
